Rooftop Rooms recently completed a bespoke L-shaped dormer loft conversion in Tottenham. The client approached the team with a distinct, contemporary vision for their top-floor extension.

The objective was to translate these ideas into a highly personalised living space tailored to the family’s specific daily lifestyle and workflow requirements.

Challenges

The project required balancing cutting-edge architectural design with high-density spatial functionality. Externally, the design specified modern façade boards for the rear dormer cladding, a sophisticated, contemporary material presenting a fresh technical opportunity for the construction team.

Internally, the challenge lay in structuring a multi-use, split-level floor plan that maximised both storage and natural light without compromising the clean, uncluttered aesthetic.

Solutions

A collaborative design process ensured the client’s vision was seamlessly executed. The build team successfully mastered the new cladding material, creating a striking rear dormer. This bold architectural identity was enhanced by strategically positioning large feature windows and flush-glazed rooflights across the landing and workspace to flood the interior with daylight.

Internally, the team effectively zoned the layout across two distinct levels:

Lower Level: Formed a bright, productive home office environment, optimised by bespoke, handcrafted fitted wardrobes designed to maximise floor space.

Upper Level: Dedicated entirely to a luxury principal suite, comprising a spacious master bedroom, separate shower room, full-height cabinetry, and an integrated window seat featuring concealed under-seat storage.

Outcome

The completed Tottenham conversion delivers a unique, architecturally distinguished addition to the property. By combining innovative materials with expert joinery, Rooftop Rooms successfully utilised every square inch of available space.

The project seamlessly balances practical homeworking with premium, split-level living, resulting in a bright, airy, and highly valuable asset to the client’s home.
